1. What we collect

  • Account details — email, username, display name, avatar, bio.
  • Content you post — memes, stories, comments, reactions, saves.
  • Social graph — follows, hood memberships, battles you enter.
  • Referrals — the referral code you were invited with and codes you share.
  • Notifications — your notification preferences and push subscription tokens.
  • Usage statistics — feed impressions, session length, device type, general location (from IP), crash logs.

2. Why we collect it

  • To run the service and personalize your feed.
  • To calculate Meme Power, Creator Levels, achievements and leaderboards.
  • To detect fraud, spam and abuse so the community stays fun and safe.
  • To send notifications you've opted into.
  • To improve Vako over time (aggregated analytics only).

3. How we protect your information

Data is stored on managed infrastructure with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted, logged and reviewed. We use row-level security so users can only read and modify data they're entitled to.

4. Your memes are yours

You retain full ownership of the memes and content you upload. By posting on Vako you grant Vako a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display and distribute that content within the Vako platform (including in feeds, hoods, stories, shares and leaderboards) for as long as your account is active.

5. Deleting your data

You can permanently delete your account and personal data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account. Deletion removes your profile, memes, stories, comments and Meme Power. Aggregated, anonymised statistics may be retained.

6. Who we don't sell to

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers for targeting outside of Vako.

7. Age requirement

Vako is intended for users aged 13 and above. Accounts believed to belong to a person under 13 will be removed. If you become aware of such an account, contact us and we'll act on it.
